Hilma af Klint – A Pioneer of Abstraction

One hundred years ago, Hilma af Klint painted pictures for the future. By 1906, she had developed an abstract pictorial imagery – some years before artists such as Kandinsky, Malevich and Mondrian. Moderna Museet is celebrating Hilma af Klint as a pioneer of abstract art and one of Sweden’s greatest artists.
The Design Collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen can now be seen in the museum’s eight purpose-built galleries. Visitors can trace the history of design based on diverse themes that cover seven centuries of design.

Bas Jan Ader. Tra due mondi is the first retrospective dedicated to Bas Jan Ader in Italy, curated by Javier Hontoria and organised by MAMbo – Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bologna (Istituzione Bologna Musei).
The title alludes to the condition of being constantly in transit, between the Old and New World, between the subjectivity inherent to the romantic drift and cold impersonality of Conceptual Art, between the extreme rationalism of Mondrian and the vibrant absurdity of slapstick comedy.
