The fourteenth edition of OPEN, the International Exhibition of Sculptures and Installations will be held at Venice Lido and San Servolo Island. from September 1st to October 2nd, 2011, in conjunction with the 68th Venice Film Festival.
At this venue the Milanese photographer Marina Gavazzi is presenting an installation built from iron scaffolding tubes taken from an abandoned building site.

Fifty years of intense studies to find the key to Marcel Duchamp’s oeuvre will be revealed in a major exhibition at The Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts produced in collaboration with Moderna Museet. The exhibition Ulf Linde, even opens on 29 September, 2011, and will present Moderna Museet’s entire collection of Duchamp and the world-premiere of Ulf Linde’s striking 1:10 replica of Duchamp’s last piece Etant Donnés: 1° La chute d’eau, 2° Le gaz d’éclairage.

A new exhibition drawn from a collection of more than 450 photographs brought together by the Irish-born American collector David Kronn opens to the public at the Irish Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday 20 July 2011. Out of the Dark Room: works from The David Kronn Collection comprises 165 photographs from the collection, which ranges in content from 19th-century Daguerreotypes to the 20th-century photography of Edward Weston and August Sander and works from award- winning contemporary photographers, such as the husband and wife team of Nicolai Howalt and Trine Søndergaard, and the Japanese photographer Asako Narahashi.

When Ai Weiwei was invited to mount a big solo exhibition at the Kunsthaus Bregenz one and a half years ago, no one could have foreseen the present situation. At the beginning of April 2011, Ai Weiwei was arrested at the Beijing Capital International Airport. Since then, up to the time of the writing of this text (May 2011), nothing has been heard of him. Neither his family nor his team knows where he is or how he is faring. No official charges have been brought to date.
