Artist Thomas Schütte showcases key sculptural, photographic and painted portraits at the Serpentine Gallery. Although the artist has returned to portraiture throughout his career, this is the first exhibition dedicated entirely to these pioneering works. Gerri Sayler: Evanescent

The installation Evanescent in the Travel Montana Lobby in the Andrew Precht Addition of the MAM was created by Moscow, ID artist Gerri Sayler. Sayler created the site-specific work in response to her study, exploration, and understanding of Glacial Lake Missoula. Appropriately, the title Evanescent is defined as, “Ephemeral or transitory, likely to vanish quickly like vapor” and expresses exactly the essence of the installation.

MIKE NELSON – 408 tons of imperfect geometry

Mike Nelson (b. 1967) is one of the most appreciated artists of his generation. His work predominantly features sculpture and meticulously constructed, large-scale architectural installations. In this new work created for Malmö Konsthall, Nelson uses the institutional architecture as a backdrop for a massive concrete workshop. The exhibition space is divided by a glass wall into two spaces; a smaller production workshop and an exhibition space stripped back to its original configuration.
