Chali-Rosso Art Gallery in Vancouver, BC Announces Salvador Dali Sculpture Collection “DEFINITELY DALI”
VANCOUVER, Feb. 26, 2014 /CNW/ – Chali-Rosso Art Gallery announces the debut of “Definitely Dalí”, which will open Friday, March 7, 2014 to the public and run through May, 12, 2014.
Salvador Dalí was one of the most iconic artists of the twentieth century, with a range of imaginative, striking surrealist works. Dalí is known for his technical skills as an artist and the shocking quality of his imagination. Though chiefly remembered for his painterly output, in the course of his long career he successfully turned to sculpture, printmaking, fashion, advertising, writing, and filmmaking. “I am very honoured to have been entrusted with this exhibition by the prominent editor of the Dalí Sculpture Collection and the president of the Stratton Foundation, Mr. Beniamino Levi. Mr. Levi is a world class collector and leading expert who had the privilege of meeting Dalí on several occasions in Paris, New York and in the artist’s home in Spain. With this collaboration, the Dalí Sculpture Collection was born.” announces gallery owner, Susanna Strem. “These sculptures have been shown worldwide, in numerous prestigious galleries for millions to enjoy his unique language, cast in three-dimensional format.” The Dalí Sculpture Collection represents a significant aspect of Dalí’s artistic creation. From the entire collection, Chali-Rosso will exhibit 10 extraordinary sculptures, all available for purchase. The sculptures feature the recognizable symbols and well-known Dalí imagery, in fact, they are surrealism in the third dimension. “It is a unique opportunity for the public to purchase these sculptures.”, Strem says, “Acquiring a Salvador Dalí artwork means acquiring a piece of art history.” During the two months these sculptures will be on exhibit, several talks and educational events will allow the community to learn and explore the ‘Definitely Dalí’ exhibit. “The only difference between Surrealism and myself is that I am Surrealism” –Salvador Dalí Chali-Rosso Art Gallery deals exclusively with works of art by European Masters and continues to exhibit the largest private gallery collection of European Masters in Canada.
