Last night, Venetian society and consuls representing the various countries, art lovers, art critics and artists filled the rooms of Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti for the opening of the OpenArtCode contemporary art show. Buzzing with excitement to see these new artists exhibiting in Venice for the first time, the turn-out for this show was spectacular.
The exhibition is curated by Vito Abba and organized by Studio Abba, in collaboration with Emmy Varouxaki, bringing an interesting group of Greek artists, and Youngsook Park, with exciting new artists from South Korea and North America. Forty-eight internationally renowned artists are exhibiting in the stunning rooms of the main floor of Palazzo Cavalli Franchetti under the umbrella of OpenArtCode. All genres of art can be admired in these magnificent rooms on the Grand Canal, including painting, drawing, sculptures, photographs, digital art and installations. To name just some of the exhibiting artists, with a large number of US artists in the group: Joan Criscione from the US, Marybel Gallegos from Mexico, David Harry from the US, William Braemer from Cuba and Bdoor Alsudiry from Saudi Arabia.
The President of the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti Prof. Gherardo Ortalli and the commercial Director for the North East area of BIM Banca Intermobiliare, the principal exhibition sponsor, Mr. Ivano Masiero, opened the exhibition by giving brief speeches together with the curator Vito Abba to mark the opening of this exciting new show.
