AJAC Exhibition in Florence
Japanese Artists from AJAC Exhibit at Palazzo Rosselli del Turco, Florence.
As part of the long-standing collaboration between AJAC and the OpenArtCode group, coordinated by Studio Abba in Florence, twenty-four AJAC artists will present their work in Florence this March.
Twenty-four Japanese artists from AJAC will exhibit at Palazzo Rosselli del Turco (Via dei Serragli 17) from March 24 to 28, 2026. The historic palazzo is home to Studio Abba, which coordinates the international artists’ collective OpenArtCode.
The collaboration between AJAC and OpenArtCode began in 2016 with the first OpenArtCode exhibition in Tokyo, made possible through partnership with AJAC. On that occasion, twenty international artists exhibited alongside AJAC members at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum. In the years that followed, four additional editions of OpenArtCode Tokyo were held, with the sixth edition scheduled for September 2026.
Founded in 1975 by a group of contemporary Japanese artists, AJAC was established with the aim of creating an open, inclusive, and forward-thinking platform for the art of its time. Since its inception, the association has welcomed artists from around the world, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, or gender, fostering intercultural dialogue grounded in mutual respect and freedom of expression.
AJAC supports contemporary and progressive artistic practices and serves as a dynamic platform where tradition and innovation converge. It offers artists opportunities to engage in dialogue, collaborate, and present their work within an international context. Each year, numerous artists submit their works to AJAC for selection in its major annual exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum—an event recognized for its prestige and international visibility.
Attending the Florence exhibition will be AJAC President Hiromi Sato and AJAC Director of International Relations Kensuke Shimizu.
